Blog post will be written in 1st person to reflect the author and specify it is their point of view. All posts will have author written on top to reflect this. A future goal is to have other writers be a part of this community and give them a place to voice their opinions and journeys in the fiber arts community.
From day one to now, this blog is being supported solely by one individual. We are not an affiliate member of any companies. We do not have advertisements on this blog and we do not ask for anyone to pay to have access to this place (reader, designer, creator, product maker, etc.). But we do hope to one day to have this place financially sustainable on it’s own. And we want to do it in a way that does not distract or is a detriment to this community and what it stands for. We don’t like inbedding ads in blog posts because we can’t control what you will see or what size the ad will be at any given time. We are looking into affiliate member stuff or possibly a patreon page. But again we want to make sure it does not distract from the content.
Respecting Personal Property
In this social media age we believe it is far too easy to share anything. We want to make sure that this place respects someone’s hard work. That being said, here is what actions we will be taking.
At this time, this space is curated by one person, see ‘who is running this space’ on the about page, which means it’s going to be coming from one specific viewpoint. That being said, the content of this page will not nor will ever discriminate because of age, sex, gender, race, ethnicity, size, ability, or religious beliefs. If you believe we are not holding up that end of the bargain, please do bring it to our attention.
Designer’s and Finished Object spotlight
If we chose to spotlight a specific designer or one of their finished objects, we will be contacting them directly. Firstly making sure they would like to be featured through this platform and secondly giving them early access to the post for final review. We feel it’s only fair for them to have an opportunity to 1) be aware of the post and 2) to have some control as to what is said about them or their finished object. It will be a collaboration but we prefer to make sure the person likes how they are being represented. You, the designer, will have more say than we, Redamancy Coop, will. That being said, if something comes up that we do not feel follows our spirit and guidelines then it just won’t be published. We reserve the right to discontinue the collaboration at any time, even after post date. Likewise the designer has the right to discontinue the collaboration at any time, even after the post date.
Sharing things on social media: Please see “Private accounts” and “Pinterest” for specific guidelines in those areas.
Truthfully, most social media posting will be on and through instagram. We feel that instagram is the best place to reach our audience. We do have a facebook and twitter account, but you will notice those posts will be shared from instagram. We don’t want to add to the social media addiction, but want to cover platforms you prefer to make it easier for you to interact with us.
If you have chosen to have your account private, then this is what that means to us. You are protecting your space and choosing who see’s your content for whatever reason. We want to respect that decision. We will not friend you unless you specifically request it. We will not repost anything without your written consent.
If you tag us or use one of our hashtags to connect with us and we want to post what you have shared, we will contact you and ask prior to posting. Whether your account is private or public. We want to make sure you are aware that we want to share it and that you are okay with sharing with the world (specifically if your account is private).
We hate them. They go against everything we stand for. We will from time to time check our followers to make sure that they are not following us and in fact are blocked. We will also make a point in any posting to have our logo on the picture for safety. If for some reason, you see our content on another’s page that is not authorized to do so, report it and let us know.
Pinterest will be used like a visual catalog of knowledge. It will be an ever growing place of knowledge. An easy access place to find answers to anything you desire to know or find. Everything you see in that place will be vetted as best as can be. If you are an owner of that post and do not want to be associated with Redamancy Coop we completely understand, contact us and we will be happy to respect your decision.
